Shalonda Jones-Parker is one of the founding partners of Harris & Jones. Originally from Memphis, Tennessee, Ms. Jones-Parker has practiced law since 2003. After obtaining her Bachelor's Degree in English/Professional Writing from the University of Memphis in 2000, Ms. Jones-Parker received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Tennessee College of Law in 2003 with a Concentration in Advocacy and Dispute Resolution. While attending the University of Tennessee, Ms. Jones-Parker was a member of the Tennessee Law Review and the Thurgood Marshall Mock Trial Team. As a student, she interned with the U.S. Attorney General's Office and Tennessee Attorney General's Office. Additionally, Ms. Jones practiced law during her third year of law school in the college's legal clinic.
After law school, Ms. Jones-Parker passed the Georgia and Tennessee Bar Examinations. In 2003, Ms. Jones-Parker began a year-long judicial clerkship with the Honorable William C. Koch on the Tennessee Court of Appeals. Following the clerkship, Ms. Jones-Parker prosecuted traffic and misdemeanor offenses with the Clayton County Solicitor General's Office in Jonesboro, Georgia. After briefly practicing with another firm in Jonesboro, Ms. Jones-Parker and Twila Harris founded Harris & Jones in February 2006.
Ms. Jones-Parker practices primarily criminal law at Harris & Jones although she occasionally takes some personal injury and other civil cases. When she is not fighting for justice for her clients, Ms. Jones-Parker enjoys mentoring young people and coaching high school mock trial.
